Eilidh Young4 months ago Shieldhill Welfare Hall SCIO - Community Hall Media Upgrade and Upgraded Bar EquipmentAmount Requested: £4,827.98Adding a projector screen and new bar fridges into hall, to enhance the use of our hall, enabling media activities.We plan to add a projection unit and screen into our community hall. This will allow us to open up our community hall for the use of meetings and conferences, and add another unique selling point to your community hub.We would also like to renew our bar area fridges, this will allow us to set up and replenish the bar area better, with lockable fridges for safety.Adding this projection unit, will allow visual aids to be used for clients that require it.Adding new fridges into our community hall, will allow the volunteer team to safely stock and replenish the bar area.Adding this unit into our community hub, will boost the use of the community hall, allowing us to open and operate longer.This project will not take any length of time, once equipment is ordered it will be fitted by one of our volunteers.

Eilidh Young4 months ago One Parent Families Scotland - Holiday Outings for Single Parent FamiliesAmount Requested: £4,811.30Holiday outings and activities for single-parent families in rural Falkirk, helping children to build memories and families to connect and thrive.The Braes Family Centre will deliver a programme of family outings and holiday activities for single-parent families in the rural Braes area of Falkirk. Over the school holidays, we will organise day trips, provide in-house meals, and run themed activities that bring families together to have fun, build friendships, and strengthen community connections. Many local families face barriers such as poverty, poor transport links, and social isolation, meaning children often miss out on experiences others take for granted. These outings offer vital opportunities for families to connect, relax, and make lasting memories. The project will run over the summer and school holiday periods, giving children the chance to explore new places and parents the support of a caring community. With additional funding for transport and entrance fees, we can ensure no family is left behind and every child can enjoy a memorable, inclusive holiday experience.

Eilidh Young4 months ago Limerigg Action Group - Health and Wellbeing RoomAmount Requested: £5,000Creating a warm safe space for our community to access and use to improve their health and wellbeing.Having purchased Limerigg Village Hall through Community Asset Transfer, we have now embarked on the refurbishment of the hall and the facilities we can offer our community. We intend to create a health and wellbeing room that can be used for smaller meetings for groups who would be more comfortable in a smaller, more intimate setting e.g. bereavement groups, breastfeeding support/new parents, support groups in general, book club, etc.Limerigg is an extremely isolated village so it is important to provide a warm, safe space, where people can feel comfortable accessing services and support that can be brought in to empower them to create solutions that suit their needs, and give them the space to do it.Building work is completed with new windows, heating, flooring, lighting, wall insulation, etc. and we now need to furnish the room to make it comfortable and fit for purpose.

Participate+ Admin SM4 months ago Bailliefields Community Hub - Community Growing and Cooking Project 2026Amount Requested: £4,900To develop the Bailliefields Community Hub Community Garden - working and cooking with children, dementia groups and the local community.During 2026 and into early 2027, BCH will expand its Community Growing and Cooking Project at Bailliefields. Phase 1 of the garden and access path/bridge is already complete.The garden will be brought to life with community focused horticulture and cooking activities that promote healthy eating, cultural sharing, and learning. We will continue improving the site with exciting new planting areas, and constructing a community build Geodesic dome greenhouse encouraging more people to get involved in growing their own food year-round.Environmental sustainability is central to BCH. We will increase biodiversity through pollinator-friendly planting and rewilding areas, laying the groundwork for a community bee apiary in 2027.We will offer opportunities to learn traditional land-based skills such as drystone walling, willow weaving, and hedgerow planting - connecting people with nature, heritage, and the local community.This project will strengthen community wellbeing through shared growth, shared food, and shared experiences.
