Eilidh Young4 months ago Camelon Bowling Club - Improvement to disabled access at the Premier Inn carpark entrance and service road.Amount Requested: £4,942To improve the club's availability and access for people with disabilities.Replacing the ramp access for wheelchairs at the Premier Inn entrance to reduce the gradient and repair damage to the tarmac. To repair potholes in the access road to reduce damage to vehicles used to transport people with disabilities to the club.To provide the club with equipment to assist people with disabilities to be able to participate in bowls.

Eilidh Young4 months ago Falkirk Made Friends - Dawson Park, Bainsford, K6 Phone Box History ProjectAmount Requested: £4,958.40The Dawson Park K6 is a special cast iron signpost of Bainsford achievement.Refurbishing the cast iron phone kiosk, designing and installing them with attractive educational displays which promote: local history, the war memorial, school art work & Grahamston Football Club info.The Dawson Park K6, in Haugh St, Bainsford reconnects with its links to the legendary foundry, Carron Co, and is a proud cast iron symbol of the role Bainsford played in an innovative industrial contribution to revolutionising public health.Based on FMFs previous renovation experience the regeneration of the K6 should be completed by the end of the summer 2026.

Eilidh Young4 months ago Forth Valley Sensory Centre - Bloom Without BarriersAmount Requested: £3,262.51The grounds surrounding the Forth Valley Sensory Centre building - between our Café area and the Mariner Centre.We are seeking funding to transform a currently inaccessible outdoor area into a safe, welcoming, and fully accessible space for our Centre users and the wider Camelon community. The project will involve land excavation, installation of a wheelchair-friendly path, accessible seating, and brightly coloured plants to create an engaging sensory environment. If awarded, funding will be received in May, and the work will be completed by August at the latest.This development is essential: 80% of our volunteer gardeners have a sensory loss and often face exclusion from other volunteering opportunities. By improving this area, we are championing our core values of Inclusion, Equality, Respect, and Compassion, ensuring everyone can participate meaningfully in a supportive outdoor setting. The new space will also complement our recently installed Breathing Space bench, further promoting mental health, encouraging conversations, and offering a calm, reflective place for the community when our main gardens are closed.

Participate+ Admin SM4 months ago Freedom of Mind Community Choir - Songs of connection and joy!Amount Requested: £4,993.50Freedom Of Mind Community Choir will write and perform uplifting songs bringing joy, connection and wellbeing to vulnerable community members.Freedom Of Mind Community Choir will collaboratively write four uplifting songs during workshops with songwriter Kim Edgar.These will then be shared in 8 uplifting local performances, giving choir members a sense of achievement, purpose and wellbeing, and bringing those experiencing isolation and loneliness in Falkirk North, including disabled/older people, feelings of connection and joy!This is needed; tackling a Scottish Government identified national issue (“Connected Scotland” 2018), heightened by the pandemic/cost of living crisis. This meets priorities:1) Empower communities and build shared ownership - choir members, including those with mental ill health, empowered to improve the lives of others.2) Promote positive attitudes and reduce stigma – openly discuss mental health, isolation and loneliness in performances.3) Create opportunities for people to connect - build awareness of our choir as a community resource, removing barriers to participation through pay-what-you-can membership/accessible transportThe project will take place April – December 2026.

Participate+ Admin SM4 months ago Go Forth and Clyde - Jaggy Thistle/Falkirk Wheel Community Boat TripsAmount Requested: £4,800Community Boat Trips over the Falkirk Wheel on the Jaggy Thistle Canal Boat.We are a canal-based charity. We own canal boat ‘Jaggy Thistle’ that we hire out for private use. We want to make this resource available to community groups free of charge. There is a lot of demand for this locally. We know from recent attendance at community planning events that several organisations are interested in booking the Jaggy Thistle. We know that small community organisations cannot afford the funding for this. We believe local attractions such as the Falkirk Wheel should be easily accessible to local people; therefore, we will be offering free trips from Lock 16 over the Falkirk Wheel and back between April and September 2026. Over 100 people will access the Falkirk Wheel over a period of six months.

Participate+ Admin SM4 months ago Grahamston Community Club - Introduction of Additional TeamsAmount Requested: £5,000To provide facilities for an additional thirty local children by launching two additional teams at the younger age group level. Having launched in 1978, Grahamston are currently providing football for 120 children, all registered with The Scottish Youth Football Association. Having followed The European model, teams now enjoy much better facilities and competition, which are tailored to their own age and progression and focuses on giving them more time on the ball. This leads to greater opportunities for young people to develop their skills and maximise their potential. We currently provide football development for children between 10 and 17 with 21 fully qualified Coaches and 5 trustees taking care of administration. Despite increased set up costs and a higher than anticipated rise in pitch rental, Grahamston are committed to introducing two new teams in the younger age groups. Thanks to the generosity of parent fundraisers and sponsors, we have budgeted to cover all normal expenses, whilst we will use the grant to cover start-up cost for the new teams.
