Self-Build Register

Planning authorities are required to prepare and maintain a list of persons who have registered an interest with the authority with the intention of acquiring land in the authority's area for self-build housing.

This will help us to understand the demand for self-build plots in the area and to develop policies and guidance where necessary to support self-build.

By completing this form you will enable us to set up a register of people interested in self-build which we will publish here: (Self-Build Housing) (opens in another tab).

You're viewing real-time data. Participant counts are continuously updated for administrators. Please note that regular users see cached data, which may result in slight differences in the numbers.

Background information on Self-Build Register

2 October 2023 23:00 - 6 October 2023 23:00

The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 introduced a requirement for planning authorities to prepare and maintain a list of people interested in acquiring land for self-build housing. The list must also be published. We are setting up a survey to enable us to set up the list which will be called the Self-Build Register. We will also collect some other information including preferred plot size, house type and where you are interested in building.
