Proposed Glebe Bandstand Restoration Project

The bandstand is a much loved local landmark which sits in Glebe Park outside Bo'ness Town Hall.

The bandstand is category B listed Building dating from 1902 and has been described as "A particularly good and delicate example of Saracen Foundry ironwork." Council officers have been working for some time on a project which seeks to fully and sensitively restore the bandstand to its former glory. Applications for planning and listed building consent have been submitted and are currently awaiting determination.

Why we're getting in touch

We want to make sure that our restoration project responds to how local residents want to use the bandstand. We also want to ensure that the restoration project provides opportunities for the community to learn about traditional building skills and increases their knowledge about the history of The Glebe Bandstand and the local historic iron industry.

What we want to achieve

We plan to use your feedback to inform the design of community events and activities which could take place during the project. We also plan to use your feedback to demonstrate broad community support for the restoration project to potential funders.
