Palliative and End of Life Care in Falkirk

Palliative and end of life care services can help improve the quality of life for someone who has a life-limiting illness and their family and carers. This can be done by offering services, advice, information, referrals and support.

While this can be a challenging time, we would like to hear your views from both personal and professional perspectives. This will help us develop our strategic thinking around community palliative and end of life care services.

If you have any questions, please contact: HSCPComms@falkirk.gov.uk

Second Consultation

9 August 2024 23:00 - 23 September 2024 23:00

We are seeking views to further understand whether the intentions and priorities which we will outline in our draft Strategic Plan are reflective of those with experience of accessing and/or delivering community palliative and end of life care services. Palliative and end of life care encompasses the care and support provided to someone following diagnosis of a life-threatening illness and a person can be cared for palliatively for many years (World Health Organisation). This care includes health, social, and spiritual care for the person, their loved ones, and their carers.

We held in-person events and an online survey throughout April and May to gather people’s experiences and thoughts on community palliative and end-of-life care across Forth Valley. This feedback has been gathered and individual views have been compiled into wider themes. These themes have informed what we believe are our areas for priority and vision, which form the basis of our Strategic Plan.

We are conducting a follow-up consultation to ensure that this analysis is aligned to people’s experiences. You do not need to have been involved in the initial engagement to complete this survey. However, it would help us to know if you were involved. Please take some time to review the short PowerPoint before completing this survey. A copy is attached below. Thank you for your participation in the development of this Strategic Plan.
