Organisational Change Policy Consultation

The Organisational Change Policy is a new policy. The Council is committed to full and meaningful consultation with employees and recognised trade unions regarding proposals for organisational change. This Organisational Change Policy establishes a fair, transparent and effective process for dealing with such change and ensures compliance with statutory requirements. It has been developed to:

  • Support managers by providing a How to Guide and standard documentation to support the process, including a business case template to ensure managers have properly thought through the process and Trade Unions and employees have the right level of information at the beginning of the consultation period
  • Minimise risk of slippage in consultation timescales by including timescales for each stage of the process to be adhered to by both managers and trade unions
  • Provide clarity on when Committee approval is required and where this sits within the consultation process
  • Support partnership working and the Council’s aim to agree Fair Work First Principles with trade unions.
