Nicolton Road Active Travel Route

Falkirk Council is currently considering options for Nicolton Road, to support the delivery of a safer and more attractive active travel link for walking, wheeling and cycling.

Nicolton Road is located to the north-east of Rumford. It is currently a narrow rural road which runs from Craigs Crescent in Rumford to the A803 at the Lathallan Interchange.

As part of this work, the Council is exploring whether limiting access for cars on Nicolton Road could help create a quieter, safer and more comfortable route, while still considering the needs of local residents, landowners, agricultural access, businesses and other users.

We want to hear from you!

Your feedback will help us understand how Nicolton Road is currently used, including whether people walk, wheel, cycle, drive, or use the road for access to nearby fields and properties. We also want to understand any concerns people may have, including the potential impact of limiting car access, barriers to walking and cycling, and what improvements would make the route more attractive for active travel.

This engagement exercise will help inform the development of options for Nicolton Road and support decisions on whether changes to vehicle access should be taken forward as part of the proposed active travel link.
