Muiravonside Play Area Upgrade

We're investing to refresh the play area at Muiravonside. Late last year we asked your views about how we could best improve it and we used your feedback to inform a design brief.

We asked what equipment would you like to see and the top 5 chosen were:

  1. Swings
  2. Zip Line
  3. Climbing Frame
  4. Slide
  5. Natural play equipment (boulders, logs, mounds etc)

Thanks to your responses all submitted designs contain some of this equipment as well as some sensory and inclusive equipment.

We asked what age group the play area should cater for:

Toddlers 0-4 86.60%

Children - 5-12 96.03%

Teenagers 13-17 26.55%

The designs received are predominantly for ages 0 – 12 years but have a few pieces of equipment suitable for teens.

We asked - Would you like more benches or a picnic table and 93.55% said YES.

All designs will include 3 benches and 3 picnic tables.

In July 2023 we also asked how you would like to see our allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) spent. You voted that £60,000 should be used to create a new sensory area in the play park. This was included in our design brief and all designs have a sensory area included.

Play companies have now submitted designs and we'd like to hear which one you like the best. Your vote will influence the tender assessment.
