The Helix: Home of the Kelpies - SPF Projects
We are delighted that we have been awarded £125,000 to fund improvements at The Helix. Your vote will help us decide how we spend this funding.
During 2024/25 we welcomed over 1,000,000 visitors to The Helix. As more people from around the world come to see the Kelpies and explore the park, our facilities are starting to creak at the seams. We’d like to invest in the site to make sure The Helix remains high-quality experience for everyone who visits us.
The options presented for public voting are informed by priorities set out in the Helix Business Strategy to ensure we continue to provide a great experience for all our visitors.

Helix Improvements Survey Results
Our online Helix Park improvements survey ran from 28th May to 10th July 2025. This was promoted through social media channels and posters displayed around the park.
We asked participants to rank 5 options in order of preference to help us decide how to spend our allocation of UK Shared Prosperity Funding.
You said that we should spend our money on:
1. Habitat enhancements
2. Art and landscape features, including lighting
3. Play area improvements
4. Site interpretation
5. Welcome signage
We will develop a range of the projects for delivery between now and 31 March 2026.
