
Free Period Products - Service Redesign
We’re at a pivotal moment in shaping the future of our free period product service and need your valuable input to guide some essential changes.
Due to funding challenges, we can no longer sustain the current model. At present, home delivery accounts for 82% of our total costs, making it the largest area of spending. To address this, we are exploring alternative solutions to ensure the service remains accessible while adapting to these constraints.
We are considering the following potential solutions:
• Collection-only service: Period products would be made available for collection at local community hubs such as libraries and sports centres. Product could be collected in bundles customised to suit individual needs, offering a “pick-and-mix” style approach.
Home delivery service would continue exclusively for individuals who are unable to physically access collection points.
• Introducing a delivery charge: for the home delivery service, with concessions for those on a low income. This would be a small charge per order to cover the cost of delivery.

Phases
Pre-engagement Focus Groups
In this phase we consulted with three local community groups to gather feedback on the proposed changes, ensuring a wide range of perspectives. During this stage, ideas were shared, and participants discussed their preferred options for the service. This helped us identify the most supported changes and understand community priorities before moving forward.
