Call for Ideas (Communities)

24 January 2025 00:00 - 3 May 2025 23:00

Please note this consultation ended on 2 May 2025.

The Call for Ideas is an opportunity for individuals, community groups or other organisations to suggest new uses, improvements, or protection for sites or vacant or derelict buildings in their locality. These will be considered by the Council in preparing the LDP3 Proposed Plan. We are also carrying out a Call for Sites. This is for developers, landowners and agents to formally suggest sites for potential allocation in the plan as housing, business or other development uses.

Communities can prepare local place plans (LPPs) to set out their proposals for the development and use of land and also what changes they would like to see in LDP3. The Call for Ideas is an alternative way for communities to influence the plan at an early stage.

The following provides examples of things that you could suggest through the Call for Ideas:

  • a site for housing, employment, tourism, renewable energy or community growing
  • improvements to local green spaces, playparks, community facilities or town or local centres
  • re-use or redevelopment of a vacant or derelict building or site
  • active travel enhancements (such as improved path links for walking, cycling and wheeling)
  • conservation of local wildlife or built heritage (for example, the restoration of an historic building or the creation or protection of a habitat)
  • projects to sustainably manage flood risk or protect and restore the water environment

You can submit your idea by taking the survey.

Feel free to email us at ldp@falkirk.gov.uk if you wish to discuss your idea before responding to this consultation.
