What is the HSCP and why are we asking?
The Falkirk Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) brings together Falkirk Council, NHS Forth Valley and partners to plan and deliver adult health and social care services. The HSCP Strategic Plan sets priorities for the next few years and explains how services and resources will be planned to improve outcomes for people in Falkirk.
The Housing Contribution Statement (HCS) sits alongside the Strategic Plan and explains how housing services support health and wellbeing — for example through adaptations, homelessness prevention, housing support and accessible homes.
This short survey asks how housing affects health and wellbeing in Falkirk, and what housing priorities should be reflected in the Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Strategic Plan. It should take around 5 minutes. Your responses are anonymous.
If you are also completing the HSCP Strategic Plan consultation, you can still complete this survey — it focuses specifically on housing.

How your feedback will be used
We will use your feedback to help refine the Housing Contribution Statement and to inform HSCP about strategic planning and commissioning discussions. Results of the survey will be shared on Participate +, with those who indicated they wanted results sent to them, will be shared in Tenant Talk and Rent Matters.

Feedback Report (Spring 2026)
This report provides a summary of the findings from the Housing, Health and Wellbeing Survey undertaken in Spring 2026. The survey gathered 227 responses from residents, workers and service users across the Falkirk area, and forms part of the evidence base for the Housing Contribution Statement.
The Housing Contribution Statement sets out how Falkirk Council’s housing services and the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) will work together to improve health and wellbeing. It supports the planning and delivery of integrated services, with a focus on prevention, independent living and ensuring people have access to suitable housing and support.
Overall, there was a clear and consistent message: housing plays a fundamental role in health and wellbeing. More than 85% of respondents identified housing as having a major impact on people’s health
When asked what matters most, responses highlighted a number of key factors. In particular:
- the affordability of housing and ability to meet costs
- feeling safe, secure and settled at home
- the condition of homes and quality of repairs
- keeping homes warm and energy efficient
These responses underline the importance of good quality, affordable housing as the foundation for healthy communities.
Also identified were key priorities for the future. The strongest themes were:
- tackling fuel poverty and improving energy efficiency
- reducing loneliness and strengthening communities
- preventing homelessness and improving access to housing options
- supporting people to remain at home through adaptations and care
- increasing the supply of accessible and specialist housing
A consistent theme throughout the feedback was the importance of prevention. Many respondents highlighted the need for earlier support to avoid problems escalating. This included:
- earlier access to advice and support
- help with energy costs
- action to reduce isolation and support people in their communities
Respondents also identified opportunities to improve how services work together, particularly:
- better coordination between housing and health and social care
- clearer communication and more joined-up services
- more responsive and person-centred support
What happens next
The findings from this survey will inform the Housing Contribution Statement and wider partnership working between Falkirk Council and the Health and Social Care Partnership. They will help shape priorities, improve service coordination, and support better health and wellbeing outcomes.
