Changes to Cycling on the High Street

Falkirk Council is making changes to Falkirk High Street. One of the suggested proposals is to remove a current restriction on Cycling on the High Street. This could allow Falkirk Council to build a better cycling network by opening up access to important areas.

Responses to this questionnaire will provide information to inform this decision. Results will be published towards the end of November 2024 showing what the public and local businesses think of the idea.

We have collated the results of the survey, and published a summary of these in the attached report.

Given the broad support for the proposal, we will now take forward a proposal to Council for an amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order covering the High Street area to remove the cycling restriction. If successful, we will then institute a monitoring programme for six months from the date of change, and report back on findings and/or changes required.
