Callendar Park UK Shared Prosperity Fund Vote
Falkirk Council has secured £150,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to invest in Callendar Park, and we need your help to decide how best to spend it!
During the recent survey on the new Callendar Park management plan, respondents highlighted several priorities for action. Three of those priorities have been selected (through fit with funding criteria, scalability and deliverability within the available timescale) as potential projects to spend the money on. These are:
- Enhancements to the west end of the loch - this could include repairs to the jetty, landscaping with trees/shrubs, seating and picnic benches.
- Improving access to/within the Park - for example, making park entrances more attractive/accessible, path upgrades, inclusive/wheelchair accessible furniture.
- Improving the Park's biodiversity - for example pollinator friendly bulb/shrub planting, bug ‘hotels’ etc.).
Whether you visit every day or just occasionally, we're keen to hear your thoughts on how to allocate the funding between these potential projects to make Callendar Park an even better place to visit.
The two options that receive the highest number of votes will each have an equal share (£75,000) of the total available amount allocated to them.

Callendar Park UK Shared Prosperity Fund - End of Project Evaluation
Falkirk Council secured £150,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to invest in Callendar Park during 2024/25. A public vote was held between August and September 2024 to decide how the funding should be allocated. The result of the vote was
- Enhancements to the west end of the loch
- Improving the Park's biodiversity
The enhancements have now been delivered, and Falkirk Council is collecting feedback from site users to understand whether their perceptions of Callendar Park have improved, and whether they are likely to visit the site more often as a result.
