Bonnybridge Regeneration Fund - Public Realm and Memorial Park Proposals
Falkirk Council has allocated a budget of £500,000 for the purpose of delivering projects that will support economic and environmental regeneration in Bonnybridge.
Following community engagement, undertaken in Summer 2023, the following projects were approved by Falkirk Council on 6 December 2023, to be taken forward for further design and feasibility assessment:
- Bonnybridge Toll roundabout and public realm improvements;
- Memorial Park improvements;
- Historical Annotations;
- Astroturf to Anderson Park; and
- Pump Track.
This engagement relates specifically to the proposed improvements to the area at the Bonnybridge Toll roundabout and Memorial Park. The Council would like feedback on the design proposals.
Please review the design proposal document attached below, and submit your thoughts by clicking on the "add contribution" button on the right hand side of this screen.
Alternatively, come along to the drop-in session on 15 May at Bonnybridge Community Education Centre, any time between 3.30pm and 5.45pm to see plans and talk to a member of the team.
The Historical Annotations project has now been completed and the Anderson Park and Pump Track proposals will form a future phase of community engagement.
If you would like to contact a member of the team - please e-mail regeneration@falkirk.gov.uk.
Phases
Design Phase
Following community engagement and consultation during 2023, a list of priority projects was identified in Bonnybridge. Feedback centred on improving the area around the Toll and Memorial Park and there was support for a new astroturf pitch in Anderson Park, and more recreation opportunities for young people with a pump track agreed to serve the community.
The projects that have been developed for Bonnybridge are:
· Bonnybridge Toll access and public realm improvements;
· Improving the accessibility of Memorial Park, improved seating, new flagpole area and landscaping, and
· a new pump track at Anderson Park.
The next steps are to appoint a contractor to carry out the works during summer 2025. Some planting may have to take place later in the year depending on species needs, but the majority of works are scheduled to be completed during the summer months.
The Pump track is proposed to be sited at Anderson Park following a feasibility study of a range of sites within Bonnybridge. This project is being managed by the Green Action Trust and is, following appointment of a design and build contractor, now at early design stage.
