2026 Private Rented Tenants Survey

The Private Rented Sector represents about 10% of all homes across the Falkirk Council area, providing flexibility and choice to residents at different life stages.

The Local Housing Strategy 2023-2028 (LHS) is the key strategic housing document. It sets out the outcomes and actions the council aims to achieve across our seven priorities. The current strategy introduced, Creating a Sustainable Private Rented Sector as a new LHS priority and dedicated section. Engaging with private rented tenants and developing our understanding of the sector are key actions: the 2026 Private Rented Tenant Survey one of those actions.

This survey is open to all private rented tenants across the Falkirk Council area and should take under 5 minutes to complete. Through this survey we hope to:

• increase awareness of available support and assistance
• find out about your renting circumstances and preferences
• find out about your renting experiences and affordability
• find out how the private sector team can help you now
